Project X hosts Leaders on Purpose pre-summit reception at British Embassy
The CEO Summit, hosted by Leaders on Purpose, in collaboration with contributors and experts from The London School of Economics, Harvard University, and the World Bank, was held in Washington, D.C. last month.
It was the first time that this group of renowned leaders came together in person as a community in person, and Project X was honoured to host a reception at the British Embassy, with a welcome speech by Dr Jim Yong Kim, President of the World Bank.
The dinner was held at the private residence of Sir Kim Darroch, KCMG, British Ambassador to the US, with thanks to our board member Major-General James Michael Shaw, CBE, for his help in arranging this event.
Attendees at the dinner included CEOs and leaders of some of the world’s largest and most influential organisations, including Danone, Mastercard, Mars, InBev and Cummins.
Marcela Navarro, Co-Founder and CEO of Project X, said: “We were proud to be a strategic partner on this important event for leaders in the 21st Century. As an organisation focused on driving transformational change into industry, the willingness from leaders to come together to disclose and discuss their challenges is exactly the kind of thought and action that we need right now.”
This event also gave Project X the opportunity to share the scale of ambition of the 10 Industries in 10 Years Programme – enabling a $1.3 trillion shift from unsustainable dollars spent to sustainable dollars, by 2030. This news was received very well and several 10 in 10 leader relationships are developing as a result of this announcement.
As strategic partners to Project X we were delighted to be able to ensure WWF and Thomson Reuters were able to join for this exclusive event. This is the first in a series of events for Project X as we extend the message of our two pilot programmes and 10 in 10 report out to targeted industry leaders around the world.
